Australian Bushfire Relief

Montage of 2020 Australian Bushfire

The world has changed a lot since the Australian Bushfires of 2020. At the time no Australian would have understood that as devastating and horrific the bush fires were we would then be entering 2+ years of a Pandemic.

I originally wrote the following on 7th January 2020.

As an Australian, I’ve felt quite helpless watching the catastrophic bushfire events unfold over the last few months and particularly over the last few days across QLD, NSW, SA & my home state of Victoria. I’ve traveled to many of the places and towns that have come under threat of bushfire across Australia. As a creative, I decided to gather news footage over the course of the last few days and create something that I hope will create a positive shift in perspective and attitude towards our wilderness and environment.

“Our world has now seen extreme & catastrophic forces of nature in Australia. Earth and nature are far more powerful than humans will ever be. What worked for us in the past is now redundant. Our life and wildlife survival depends on the natural world, we need to work with our climate and environment not against it.” — Evan Hancock, Photographer

Although flames have been extinguished from this bush fire, the long term biodiversity healing continues for the earth, animals and people effected. Below is a list of organisations that are in need of ongoing bush fire relief assistance. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
